Research leadership
Osama Khaled
Ahmed Abdel-Qader
Scientific Research Lead and Founder & CEO of ABLAQ Studios, responsible for its research agenda, scientific decisions, and publication.
Scientific leadership
Direction, decisions,
and accountability.
Osama Khaled Ahmed Abdel-Qader leads the scientific research at ABLAQ Studios, a registered nonprofit organization in Jordan. His role combines responsibility for the research agenda with authority over the scientific decisions that shape the work.
The programme focuses on the environmental physics of built spaces. The published courtyard sunlight study connects a defined physical question to an analytical model, generated data, and reproducible numerical comparisons.
He is responsible for deciding what the research investigates, which methods and assumptions support it, and which conclusions the evidence justifies. Scientific correspondence can be addressed directly to osama.khaled@ablaqstudios.com.
Scientific decision authority
Responsibility
throughout the research.
Research questions and study scope
Responsible for setting the research questions, priorities, and boundaries of each investigation, including the distinction between a calculation, a physical prediction, and a claim requiring observational evidence.
Current research question · Scope and assumptions
Methods and analytical choices
Responsible for the choice and approval of scientific methods, model assumptions, comparisons, and interpretation criteria. Technical implementation can be delegated; responsibility for the scientific reasoning remains with the research lead.
Analytical method · Numerical comparisons and their limits
Interpretation and scientific conclusions
Responsible for assessing what the results support, resolving methodological questions, and keeping conclusions within the evidence. This includes distinguishing numerical consistency from physical validation and identifying the evidence needed to support broader conclusions.
Research team and contribution records
Directs the team’s assigned research workstreams across methods, modelling, verification, data stewardship, and scientific documentation. Responsibilities are separated from completed contributions; each release must identify who actually performed and reviewed its work.
Publication and corrections
Holds responsibility for scientific release decisions, accurate attribution of human and AI-assisted work, and the response to questions and corrections. The published record must state both the evidence and its limitations.
Contribution and provenance
Courtyard geometry
and direct sunlight.
Osama’s role comprises scientific research leadership and decision-making, research commissioning, and publication accountability. His remit covers the study’s scientific direction, methodological choices, interpretation, and release.
ABLAQ Studios is the institutional author and publisher. The contribution record documents AI-assisted implementation, numerical testing, and preparation of the technical analysis and documentation, separately from scientific leadership.
The published evidence comprises the model assumptions, analytical derivation, parameter sweep, numerical comparisons, and reproducible source files. These give readers a concrete basis for examining the study and directing scientific questions to its research lead.
Research that
can be examined.
ABLAQ Studios (2026). Courtyard geometry and direct sunlight. Model version 1.0.1; first published 12 October 2026.
Methods and evidence
The study calculates direct sunlight on a 100 m² courtyard across 315 combinations of proportions, wall height, and solar angles.
Verification comprises 1,585 numerical and geometric checks, separate ray-sampling comparisons at four grid resolutions, and agreement between the Python and browser implementations across the published cases. The complete verification report records the inputs, comparisons, runtime versions, and exact source files.
The evidence concerns direct solar exposure under the model’s stated assumptions. The methods record explains the scope of the internal comparisons; temperature, thermal comfort, and measured building performance are outside this study.
