Data, software
and reproducibility.

Complete numerical tables, readable source, publication figures and version manifests. Each dataset is connected to the report that defines its variables and interpretation.

Seasonal transmission

315 geometries and locations, each evaluated over a full generic solar year. The monthly table has 3,780 rows. Conditions are synthetic; the year is not a historical weather record.

Diffuse sky access

35 combinations of plan ratio and wall height at constant floor area, with area-averaged isotropic sky-view factors.

Direct–diffuse mixtures

1,155 scenarios with prescribed diffuse fractions, annual transmission and two seasonal indices.

Foundation dataset

The original 315-case instantaneous sunlight sweep remains at its established version and URL.

VariableMeaning / unit
latitude_deg_nLatitude north, degrees; a model input.
aspect_ratioLength divided by width; floor area held at 100 m².
wall_height_m; width_m; length_mGeometry in metres. Vertical opaque walls, zero thickness, equal height.
long_axis_bearing_degClockwise from north, modulo 180°; 0° means north–south.
beam_transmission; annual_beam; winter_beam; summer_beamDimensionless ratio of transmitted to unobstructed cosine-weighted direct exposure.
transmitted_cosine_hours; open_cosine_hoursSums of sunlit fraction × upward solar component × time, and upward component × time; hours.
sunlit_area_hoursInstantaneous sunlit floor fraction integrated over the month, in equivalent full-floor hours.
area_averaged_sky_view; sky_view_factorDimensionless isotropic diffuse transmission averaged over the entire floor.
diffuse_fractionPrescribed share of unobstructed horizontal exposure that is diffuse, from 0 to 1.
annual_transmission; winter_transmission; summer_transmissionDimensionless direct–diffuse mixture under the stated scenario.
month; winter; summerMonths 1–12 in a non-leap year; winter = Dec–Feb, summer = Jun–Aug.

CSV files use UTF-8, a header row, decimal points and no thousands separators. Floating-point results are serialized to ten significant digits; values are fractions, not percentages.

Reproducibility

Run the full
radiative series.

The radiative software requires Python 3.10 or later and the standard library. It uses no network, external packages or observation files. Choose a new output directory; an existing directory is rejected to preserve prior outputs.

python3 -B radiative-study.v1.py --output reproduced

The command regenerates all four CSV tables, the summary, numerical checks, three SVG figures and a file manifest. A failed numerical tolerance terminates the run. The source itself is included in the manifest.

python3 -B verify-radiative.v1.py --release . --reproduced reproduced

The companion verifier checks every released file against its manifest and requires byte-identical regenerated results. It exits with a nonzero code if any output differs.

Numerical verification includes temporal resolution, a closed-form solar integral, alternative sky integrals, physical endpoints and symmetry. The research practice page explains how these checks relate to scientific evidence.
